12 Steps to a HAPPIER LIFE in 2022!

Look back on 2021… How was your year? If you’re like most people, you had your good moments and your bad moments. But overall, you probably would have classified 2021 as an ok year. Wouldn’t it be great if 2022 could be better? Better yet, wouldn’t it be great if you could make 2022 a great year for yourself? Here are 12 steps to help make that happen!

1. WRITE OUT YOUR GOALS.

Your goals are essential. And writing them down will make you more likely to achieve them! A recent study found that when people took the time to write their objectives on paper rather than just talking about what they wanted or thinking about how great everything seemed in general, there were significant increases in success rates for those tasks! So don’t be afraid if this sounds difficult- get started right now by making your first step “writing.” You can always edit later once things have gotten going better.

2. LET GO OF “WHAT WAS.” The past is just that—the stuff of your memories. It doesn’t exist anymore, so it’s time to let go and move on with today rather than dwell in what has been before you can live fully into tomorrow.

The past can often serve as a foundation for the future. Without looking back, we are unable to understand where our lives have been and what needs or wants arise to move forward with peace of mind.

3. FORGIVE. Have you been holding on to any anger, resentment, or regret toward someone? It’s time for forgiveness. Letting go of what was done will release yourself from the burden and protect your energy from being drained by negative thoughts about this person (or people).

If it seems like they don’t care, then why should we waste our emotional fuel on them when there are so many other essential things in life worth living for?

Sometimes we need to forgive ourselves too–for whatever reason.

We all make mistakes. We’ve also said things that we wish were different, but it’s important to forgive ourselves and move on – incredibly when others ignore you! Today I will remember this phrase: “Forgive And Forget.”

4. LIVE “OUTSIDE” THE BOX—Live life on your terms. “Not a follower” is the mantra for this generation about dissatisfaction in society and how we’ve been led astray by others’ expectations of us. Still, it doesn’t have to be that way! Live bolder than ever before – pursue what makes YOU happy instead of letting other people’s dreams dictate yours (not parents or friends). THIS IS YOUR LIFE: no one else has control over its direction except YOU

5. ENJOY THE JOURNEY. Why? Because of the “journey” in your life! We get caught up in the drama of what will happen at the conclusion that we lose track of all of the exciting discoveries ahead. If you don’t enjoy where we are going or how we get there- maybe it’s time for a change.

6. FAIL FORWARD. Most of us have a natural fear of trying something new. After all, who wants their first experience with anything in life is an outright failure? But if you ask any successful person on earth about their losses (and trust me – they will tell), then there’s one thing that these incredible individuals share: no matter how many times we fall or make mistakes- as long as you never give up your goal is achievable!

“You’re not a quitter! Your aspirations should be your motivation. Don’t allow the prospect of “failure” to deter you from pursuing them with everything you’ve got because that would make things difficult for those who are attempting their best but don’t have what it takes – which is why we need to understand how much bravery comes from our hearts rather than errors or mistakes made along this journey called life.

You get back up, dust yourself off and keep moving forward.

7. EAT HEALTHY AND BE ACTIVE. It is important to remember that you are only one person. This means it’s not worth trading your old body for a new one if you get sick, so don’t put off acting any longer than necessary!

8. BE THE MOST POSITIVE PERSON YOU KNOW. You are the sum of your thoughts. What you think about becomes a reality; if negativity fills up a room, let’s start looking for ways out! Please don’t waste time with people who only seem to drag others down into their depression–they’re not worth it at all.

To achieve great things in your life, you have to keep away from negative energy. It will be more difficult if that person is constantly around us and their bad vibes infect our personal space, leading to feelings of sadness or anger!

Like Oprah says, “Be responsible for the energy you bring into a room.”

9. CREATE YOUR OWN “CIRCLE OF LIGHT. Surrounding yourself with people who elevate and uplift you, being positive will help evolve your mindset. Spend time around others that are admirable or generous; if they’re there, then go out of the way to meet them! But be aware it might take some effort because most likely, those qualities won’t exist close-by at first glance so get online for virtual meetings where possible, too – these types can lead into special friendships later on down the line anyway.

10. LOVE MORE. You can start by choosing your words wisely and thoughtfully so that they bring others happiness as well! The key to coming from a place of love is simple – it’s all about being kind.

The way you come off to everyone around is the tone of your voice. A lot can happen in just one day, so it’s crucial that no matter what kind of situation arise – whether at home with family members; on an errand run for friend drama optional– always try coming from a space full of love!

I’m sure you have your ideas of what love is, but I’d like to share mine. Love isn’t just a feeling; it’s an action word too! When we think about coming from the place and energy of loving ourselves unconditionally, our thoughts become more positive, showing in all areas – emotionally (smiling at someone), mentally (complimenting) physically by not getting into arguments when things go south with other people.

11. Trust the Source (or the God of your understanding). Meditation is one of the most powerful ways to find peace and clarity. It will guide you towards answers, solutions, or even relaxation that only comes with silent meditation practice. A personal note from me: I have experienced genuine inner serenity during my sessions, where all tension melts away !!!

12. FOCUS ON WHAT’S CRUCIAL. What do you value the most in your life? Is it a job, money, or something else that’s worth more than any amount of either resource? As if there was ever only one thing we should care about! The truth is everyone has different priorities when making decisions for themselves. Still, no matter what they are, though, relationships will always come first because nothing else matters at all without them.

Trying a new hobby, volunteering in the community and spending more time with family are all ways to make yourself happier. You can even try some of these tips that might help you get there!  These will be different for everyone but experimentation is key. Do what makes YOU happy!  It’s not selfish- it’s selfless because when we’re feeling good about ourselves, we have so much more to offer those around us.
