The Four Laws of Spirituality: What They Are And Why You Should Know Them
Spirituality is the ability to make yourself understood by anyone, any time, any place. It is when you can explain something in simple terms and your audience still “gets it”- Anonymous
Spirituality is the highest form of human development. A genuinely spiritual person knows that he is more than just his body. And he knows that his “spirit” is an unlimited source of energy that is always there for him.
As a best-selling author, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer sees it, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a human experience.” Unfortunately, many people in the world today are starving for spirituality. They are searching for the spiritual core of their being.
Many people out there want to lead a more meaningful life but are put off by the idea of being called “spiritual.” Even if they don’t consciously realize it, they may associate the word with gurus, cults, and other things they don’t want to be associated with. There are various misconceptions about spirituality, such as spirituality is something “spiritual” people do; most people think true spirituality is the absence of materialism, If you’re not religious or spiritual, you can’t be a true fan of God and many more.
Spirituality is feeling what you are doing while you are doing it. Spirituality is all about taking care of oneself. Knowing and believing that you are healthy in the soul, mind & body.
We all have our moments of confusion and chaos. Our mental barriers keep us from seeing things as they are. When we remove these barriers, we can see things as they really are and then decide based on what we see. This leads to wisdom. I think that is true, but I don’t think it is enough. I think we need to be stripped bare of ALL barriers. If we can do that, I believe there is a chance to grow into something more. To become aware of a larger truth.
There are many beliefs and philosophies surrounding spirituality. However, four universal laws are at the core of all true spirituality. These are as follows:
The First law says:
The person comes to your life is the right person. No one comes to our life by chance; all the people who surround us, who interact with us, who we encounter, even the toxic ones, who cause us grief or pain, are there for a reason. And we all contribute to each other, in some way or the other.
However, we may disagree; we live in a world of grays. Nothing is absolute; everything is relative. Some days we are the teachers, and some days, we are the students. Each of us has a positive and also an equal negative.
To look at it, we are just flashes of lights in the darkness. Some of us represent the meaning more accurately. Irrespective, all of us have something to say and something to hear. With time, we learn to be grateful – for those who complicate our lives as well for those who supported us loyally throughout.
And in the end, everything, absolutely everything, adds up in life.
The Second law says:
What happens is exactly what’s supposed to happen. Nothing, absolutely nothing that happens in our lives, could have happened in any other way, And it had to be that way so we could learn and move forward.
Another way to understand it is that what happens to us is the only thing that should happen. It’s the right thing at the right time.
We are habitual to thinking about what could’ve happened. The habit of creating hypothetical situations, which we could have done differently, yields a different result.
Whatever happened, has already moved into the past. Acceptance is the only step. There are no other possibilities. Every single of our actions creates a ripple effect all around. Each changes ripples into unknown, unpredictable situations.
There is a time and a place for everything. You need to crawl before you can walk, And walk before you can run.
You can’t skip the necessary steps in life.
The Third Law says:
Any time you start is the right time. It is always the right time, no moment before, not a moment after. When we are ready for something new to begin in our lives, it will start. The teacher appears when the student is ready
There are no perfect moments.
We draw everything in our lives; enjoy them.
And the Fourth and Last law says:
When something ends, it ends. And just like that, when something, anything, ends in our lives, it is always supposed to be that way. So it is better to leave it there and move on.
Everything in your life has its moment and reasons for being.
Saying goodbye hurts. We choose to in an infinite loop of stories and emotions. But when something ends, keeping it with us is just an excuse. Moving forward is the best option to enrich your life and avoid suffering.
We all have an inner critic who tells us we are not good enough, who says we are wasting our time and should stop. But if we listen to this naysayer, we will never be able to do anything worthwhile. Instead, we need to tune out this negative chatter and keep going. The most impressionable person you interact with every day is you. And the way you react to challenges is the way you will respond to future obstacles. So don’t get stuck on what you “should” do. Instead, keep flowing, and the universe will provide what you need.
